The indigenous people of North America have long had cultures that respected “teaching plants” but the relationship between indigenous people and cannabis is complicated. Now, with the spreading legalization of adult-use cannabis, Native American reservations in the U.S. and First Nation communities in Canada have started establishing cannabis rules and opening cannabis retail and production centers.
