Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority Director Adria Berry said last week that she is stepping down. She has helped oversee the industry since Gov. Kevin Stitt (R) appointed her to the role in 2021.

“I’m so grateful for Governor Stitt and his trust in me and the team at OMMA,” Berry said in a statement. “Having his support as we built a regulatory structure that reigned in the ‘Wild West of Weed’ made it possible to root out bad actors and make our state safer.”

Stitt said Berry had navigated the industry “with grit and professionalism.”

Stitt also appointed Berry to be secretary of licensing and regulation in 2025, and she will continue serving in that role.

“She built a strong team at OMMA that carefully navigates the ins and outs of this industry, and she has a clear track record of results. I am grateful for her years of service in my administration and to the State of Oklahoma.” — Gov. Stitt, in a statement

Jason Yingling, the current deputy chief of compliance and enforcement, to serve as interim director for the remainder of his term.

“Jason has worked tirelessly alongside Adria and the team at OMMA since 2022, bringing a background in law enforcement and public safety to the role,” Stitt said in a statement. “His experience will continue OMMA’s work to keep bad actors out of our state.”
