The Boston Beer Company this week launched Emerald Hour, a line of non-alcoholic, rosin-infused beverages in Ontario, Canada. Each can contains 10 milligrams of THC and regionally sourced ingredients. The first flavors in the line are cranberry-citrus and ginger-lime with more planned for next year.

In a statement, Paul Weaver, director and head of cannabis at Boston Beer, noted that the 10mg THC content in a 355 milliliter can mean the “cocktails are not for the uninitiated.”

“We know many folks want great-tasting and premium alternatives to alcohol, and Emerald Hour is the solution they’re looking for.” — Weaver in a press release

Boston Beer Company is best known for the Samuel Adams beer brand, Truly Hard Seltzer, and Twisted Tea. The company also makes TeaPot, a cannabis-infused iced tea launched in Canada in 2022.

According to Statistics Canada data, cannabis-infused beverages are most popular in Ontario with sales totaling about CAD$36.4 million from 2022 to 2023, which triples cannabis-infused beverage sales in runner-up British Columbia.

From 2022 to 2023, cannabis-infused beverage sales in Canada neared CAD$75 million. Comparatively, in the U.S., sales of cannabis-infused beverages totaled $203.6 million in 2022, according to data published on Statista.
